Cabal

Violent, highly-militarized, and known for destroying planets simply because they're in their way. This is how the hulking Cabal is known for. This militaristic, highly industrial race has occupied the Red Planet and was able to set up heavy fortifications there. They possess advanced technology as evidenced by their equipment, vehicles, and spare-faring capabilities. They seem to be at constant battles against the Vex roaming in the same planet. The Cabal is also known for efficiently reinforcing their ranks, as clearly proven by fresh reinforcements arriving via dropships a few seconds after they lose a foothold or area.

The Cabal are heavily armored and armed. Their slow movement is often compensated by their use of jetpacks to cover large distances and jumping over obstacles. Their defenses makes them hard to take out individually. Fortunately, you can kill them easily by well-placed headshots.

Types

  • Legionary
Propelled by jump packs and wielding powerful slug rifles, Legionaries are the Cabal's line infantry and the backbone of their military power on the ground. Common Legionary tactics center on the bounding advance - some units attack the target while others close the range or find new firing positions.
Weakness: Head (no matter how strong their armor are, all Cabal units [except bosses] can be killed with a well-placed headshot, either via hand cannon or sniper rifle.

  • Phalanx
Phalanx soldiers carry massive shields, used for both attack and defense. While this protection is nearly impenetrable, clever opponents can bait the Phalanx or sneak shots around the shield.

Weakness: Head (The best way to deal with Phalanx soldiers is to aim for their exposed hand. This will cause them to reel, giving you an opening and enough time to aim for its head and deliver a fatal blow.

  • Centurion
Centurions are tactically intelligent, highly skilled field commanders. Their armor boasts a formidable array of combat electronics and deployable munitions. They wield rapid-fire rockets and often accompanied by a number of Legionaries and Phalanxes.

Weakness: Head (High impact weapons like sniper rifles and hand cannons can stagger them, stopping their potentially dangerous barrage of rockets. If it's not enough to blow their head off, follow up shots can easily seal their fate.)

  • Colossus
Towering over other Cabal, equipped with rapid-firing heavy weapons and nearly impenetrable armor, the Colossus is the most devastating heavy infantry unit in the Cabal order of battle. These hulking soldiers can only be easily brought down by heavy weapons or simply placing accurate headshots.

Weakness: Head (Head shots can deal extra damage though one or two shots won't suffice to take them out instantly.

  • Psion
Psions are smaller than all other Cabal morphs, and may be an unrelated species. Hyper-intelligent, fast and unpredictable, they possess strong psionic capabilities - including the ability to emit disorienting and deadly psychokinetic Arc blasts. They don't possess that much threat compared to ordinary Cabal units but their smaller build and absence of armor make them quite easy to take out.
