I had just gotten a "spark of light"
And I did my research, and I guess you can only get it if you have the taken king expansion, buy I somehow got it from the postmaster and don't even have any expansion. Now I can get rid of it. What do I do?

Same happened to me and I have the demo! Its awesome you unlock everything but I still cant level up or play the missions but you get all rare level 25 gear and a rare ghost and you unlock all of the planets which you cant play on if you have the demo...

I got the spark of light to and it's just the demo but I don't know what to do cause I feel like if I use it it will just keep me at level 7 even though I still have the demo
